First Egg Countdown

I got another egg today (makes 4 all together), this time from Amber, her first! All of the eggs I've gotten have been between 1.1 and 1.3 oz. , but my chickies are of the smaller variety, so I expected this.

They all like a certain nesting box. Everybody that has laid an egg has laid it in the same box. So cute!

Don't know how many of the 10 pullets are laying, one of the EE offspring is tho...Got a blue egg the other day, don't get me wrong, Its always exciting to get a new egg but I had hoped that crossing my Dominique rooster with my blue egg laying EE hen would hopefully give me green egg layers...I got three more EE Pullets so hopefully one of them will lay me a more olive colored egg!!

Getting 4-5 pullet eggs a day tho!

3 hens, all 3 have started to squat. Two of them have bright red wattles and combs the other one is still light pinkish...

Anytime soon I hope...

Yay! I just went to hang out with my chickies for a bit and found a second egg for the day!!! First time that's happened! Not sure who laid it, but it had to be after 3:00 PM because I was out there at that point. So I now have proof that more than one pullet is laying.

I didn't get my first egg for a couple of weeks (maybe even 3 weeks) after they started to squat and it was much longer than that when they started to get some color to their combs. I know breeds differ and the time of year has to factor in, but my Hamburgs seemed to take a bit longer than some other breeds.

Me too!! My bf makes fun of me all the time. I'll be going around back and he will ask where I'm going. I'll be like, " to play with my chickens. Duh"

I love the fact that I can go hang out with them anytime I want! To me, That's the LIFE! Lol!

And, yeah, they are SO entertaining, I never knew how much fun they would be or what I was missing out on!
