Here are the eggs we got today. Nine! I have come to the realization that we have way more eggs than we know what to do with. I've got three dozen in the fridge right now, not counting what we got today! Yikes! I'm seriously going to go ask the local food bank if they would be willing to take some of our eggs. Lol!

We gave a few to the crows this morning for helping us drive hawks away from our property, they do a fabulous job of it and I am more than willing to bribe them to hang around, but it didn't even make a dent in the growing pile. I guess it's a matter of being careful what you wish for!

Wow-- are the super long eggs usually double yolkers?

The first long one we had was a double yolker. BUT, the very first egg we ever got from our chickens last month was also a double yolk!

I stalk my girls as much as possible on the weekends, but I'm not sure who has laid this egg or the last monster we got. I have my guesses it could be Dottie after today but yesterday I thought it was Leticia LOL!

OMG!! First egg is here already!
I was prepared for a long wait... and I predicted a Marans would be first. NOPE!
this egg was laid by a Welsummer, 18 and a half weeks old!!!
