First Egg Countdown

What a tragedy! However, Congrats! We had one egg on Monday, and nothing since then.....

I have nothing today. Not even one dropped from a terrible height. Hoping for good news tomorrow. Did you get one today?

No, no matter how many times I go out there, no egg. No interest in the nesting boxes, either. My first one on Monday must have been a fluke - a delicious fluke. I have 18 hens. I can't imagine a day when all of them produce one egg.

My 20.5 week flock is making me crazy! I have Camilla (white leghorn), Lil'Buff and Big Buff (BOs), Queenie (RSL), Al and Peep (white wyandottes). Twelve days ago, Camilla started squatting for me, and she does it readily and consistently. Lil'Buff will squat maybe one time in three, while Queenie, Al and Big Buff do it intermittently. Peep and Big Buff were the late bloomers of the bunch, while despite being a BO and quite petite, Lil'Buff has always been an early bloomer, to the point that at a few months old I was worried she'd turn out to be a cockerel because of the large comb and wattles!

No eggs from any of them yet. Tomorrow's my birthday... I should go out there and tell them to start working on my present!

Sorry, for the double post... but look at these combs and wattles! Behold, what teases my chickens are!

From least to most frustrating:

Me too, I feel your pain! I've even put golf balls in the box, nothing. When all your girls are laying one egg a day, you may have to buy a recipe book for eggs only!! Hahahaha!!!

Hi Chickenberry,

My BA's had bigger combs and wattles when they started laying at 22 to 24 weeks. The RIR's will probably lay first.

Good luck!
