First Egg Countdown

Quote:
Grats! Maybe you need to get one of those old fashioned train whistles and wake em up each morning "Aaaaaal aboard the egg layin train!"

Let's see if we can get this going again!

I hatched these Chicks in December. They were six weeks old on Sunday and Here are some pictures.

This is Maranda/O. Folks from the Gender thread think its a Pullet. She hatched out of a nice Chocolate egg with Speckles. She is a Marans

These are Easter Eggers. One of five is a Cockeral for sure. I may have one or two others, but right now four look like Pullets.

Ok, now for the countdown--3 to 4 months to go

However, I noticed one of my black stars, Buckbeak, was getting a redder comb, though it's still very small.

Wooohooo, it's that time of year again isnt it? And I just hatched out 5 adorable fancy Faverolles from Texas. Very excited about these babies, and hoping like crazy that I get at least two girls!

So... lessee...180 days or so?

Well it's finally happened, 4 eggs from 4 hens in 1 day, it's only taken 5 months

I have missed receiving egg updates... Right now I am getting from one to three eggs per day out of nine hens. All are old enough, however winter hours have not helped. I have yet to get an egg out of my Easter Egger. So I am hoping that when the daylight hours lengthen I will finely get the pretty colored egg I have been waiting on since I bought chicks in May 2011.

All mine from last year are laying and it is going to be a bit before I start hatching again. We are right in the middle of looking for a place to buy and I really don't want to have a bunch of baby chicks to move while it is still some what cold out.
