Thanks for joining,

The Production Red should be first. The Barred Rock next and then the Americana. Look for the combs to get bigger and the face, comb and wattles to get pink. They will start playing around in the nest box. Get the nest box ready and put either golf balls or ceramic eggs in it. They will also start doing the "egg Squat" It sounds weird, but you will know it when you see it. They squat down and so a little dance. Mine started laying a week or so after that. If you have a rooster, they will do the squat for him.

Have fun and post a picture when you get the first egg.

My barred rock is really small....smallest, in fact. does that matter??

If you post a picture of their faces maybe we can guess. Are they showing any other signs? The Production Red may lay one for you today or tomorrow.

We have fun with this too.

Ron

If you look on my page I have a pretty recent pic of them... They definitely aren't doing an egg song, but they do sit down a lot and roost in the day a lot..

Hi GertrudeLover01,

I think you will need to be patient. The Production red does not have red or big enough combs and wattles. The Americauna(or EE) actually looks closer. I can't tell with the Barred Plymouth Rock.

Probably two to four weeks.

Bye,

Ron
