First Egg Countdown

These two are my EE they sold as an Americana, and my Buffy the Orp. My avatar is Lacy my silver laced Wyandotte. I don't have much imagination when it comes to chicken names lol.
I got someone else's first little brown egg yesterday! I think it belongs to my BR, Baby. Buffy's egg yesterday was a whopper twice the size of her first little ones. I didn't think they started laying bigger ones so early.

My chickens so far lay smaller eggs but when my Plymouth Rock laid her 3rd or maybe her 4th egg it was very large turned out it was a double yolker and her eggs to follow have been on the small side again. So maybe yours is a double yolker.

Something new to wait for eggs - gotta wait until next year for them though. They are Sweetgrass turkeys. I think I have 3 males and 2 females, as 3 of them are already displaying and the other 2 are smaller.

Oh my gosh! That's so much fun!!!!!! I didn't even think to add my new poults to the countdown.

Heehee I have even longer than you to wait, here's one of my Pencilled Palm goobers to add to the countdown:

Yes I hatched them under a bantam Cochin

Welcome Malibu!

Pele........just snuck these 2 Cream Legbars under my broody. (fertility has been off in the barnies, so her eggs didn't hatch - my friend raises Legbars and gave them to me. The dark one is a pullet and the white is a recessive trait that has begun popping up in the breed.

I have 6 Red Sex Links. One started laying on July 14. I go out everyday and check like four to five time waiting for the others to start laying. BUT NOTHING. I think the other 5 are just lazy and want a free ride. HeHe. I keep telling them no treat till I see eggs well I guess that will not work it is not like I am asking teenagers to clean up the room. So I sit and wait. They are 16 week old. This is one of the chicks. They all like alike. The four four eggs we got.

Thanks :D I heard the egg song a few days ago.. but she was angry at a rabbit and once it was gone, the song stopped, so I'm not sure what it was.
The "danger" call is similar to the egg song, but with more intensity. You still have a bit before your girls are laying, judging from their pics, so it was most likely the "danger" call.

Congrats! Great day for your pullet to start laying. (my birthday)

I got my first egg today! I'm not sure who it was but I am so excited. The silly hen laid it on the floor of the coop and not in the nesting box so I put golf balls in there hoping she'll lay in there next time.
