First Egg Countdown

We got our first eggs! I hadn't checked for a few days, so I don't know if it's two eggs from one chicken or one egg from two different ones. The one egg has brown speckles while the other is solid green. Does that mean they're from different hens? Here's a pic:

These two are my EE they sold as an Americana, and my Buffy the Orp. My avatar is Lacy my silver laced Wyandotte. I don't have much imagination when it comes to chicken names lol.
I got someone else's first little brown egg yesterday! I think it belongs to my BR, Baby. Buffy's egg yesterday was a whopper twice the size of her first little ones. I didn't think they started laying bigger ones so early.

They are really cute! I love the white on the one in the back. We have a Bantam Ameracauna who's name is Chicken Little, that looks similar to your Lacy. So cute!

Ugh, I'm so sick of waiting! My girls are 22 and a half weeks and still nothing! Not only am I dreaming about finding eggs, my boyfriend is as well and confessed to me last night that he had considered buying eggs and putting them in the nests so I could find them and stop obsessing!

Haha! My girls looked so mature... I was sure they were going to start weeks ago... Here's a picture from 3 weeks ago:

Sigh... How much longer, ladies?!

Well, the girls (and guys) are 17.5 weeks now, 10 BR and 9 BO (3 Roos)....the roosters (save one, who has traditionally been the late bloomer) are crowing and getting randy with the girls. I suspect I am now on an egg countdown.

I don't know the answer to your question but I wanted to say... those are beautiful eggs! I would think two separate hens if the larger one is a single yolk, but if it's a double yolker than maybe it's the same girl. My white orp started laying about 3 weeks ago and I got about 3 eggs that were about 30% larger than her regular eggs (which are still tiny!), but when I went to use them, they were all double-yolks so maybe you've got the same thing going on.

The waiting is the hardest part for the OPs .... but the reward is SOOOOOO worth it :) Just remember, each day is one day closer to whatever magical day mother nature decides to have them start laying!

Your BR's are super close.

Hard to tell because the one on the right looks like it may be a double yolker. Color can change slightly with one hen's eggs, but shape generally stays the same. (can't compare double yolkers though) Keep an eye on the eggs and compare shape. Look for marks at the tip too - I have one hen that always lays an egg with a swirl at the tip.

I'd say they are most likely from the same hen.
