first egg /eggs

Hi everybody, my 5 month old pekin duck laid her first egg yesterday and another today.
Here is a pic of the eggs:

The one on the left is from yesterday and the one on the right is today's.
I would love to see pics of your pekin ducks and their first eggs too.

We got another egg today but did not eat it because it blood in it.

I hear that if an egg has a blood spot (just a little drop) on it, it's alright. If it was pretty bloody, that was probably a wise choice.

It had some but not a lot. I didn't want to take any chances.

Ok. Sometimes blood will be present on eggs especially if the hen is just starting to lay.

I just found our first "squishy" egg, Shell-less, and not in the boxes but in the coop run floor. Is there anything else I need to watch for? Already have free choice oyster/egg mix and good layer feed. I'm thinking I have a new (p)layer in the flock, our comet is showing all the signs and someone is singing out there right now. Oh the joy!
