This is Ethel. She hatched March 16, so she's 6.5 months old. Today she laid her first egg, and it's the bluest egg I've ever had. We get greens from our older EE's, and this one is very different.

And here's her first egg. My camera batteries are dead, and my husband's camera is at work with him, so this is from my cell phone.

Cool!! We've got 4 green layers but some seem a bit bluer than others! Love the green too!

[IMG] Congratulations! You give me hope. One of my 3 EE's comb and wattles are starting to redden up so maybe there will be a pretty egg in one of the nest boxes soon. [IMG]

What a pretty colored egg! Congratulations. [IMG]

I have 4 EE that are approx. 12 weeks old now. I can't wait until I get my first blue or green egg.

This may be a dumb question - does the coloring of the EE hen have anything to do with the color of her egg?

Very cool color!! I was hoping one of my 3 EEs would lay blue, after I got an olive green & one laying pinkish, but I think the #3 is pinkish also. Congrats! [IMG]
