Congrats! That is a fine egg for the first! Mine just started laying this week and they are mini eggs! Well, the first three were. Now they are getting bigger. I am so happy for you!!!!! Go out and give the girl a big chicken hug.

Thanks everyone, This afternoon she laid another one! a little smaller than the first here is a pic of both, I never have to buy eggs again!!! I'm guessing the BR are about 6.5 to 7 months old. Still waiting for the other BR to lay. The red stars, australorps, and cochins are about 10 weeks old so I have a while for those..... Still don't know what to do with the first egg.

Congrats! My BR started at 23 weeks and a few days. She is now laying some nice size large eggs

And is laying almost every day. I think she misses one or two days a week...not bad!
