First egg! In the nest box!

She laid it right in the nest box! I'm certain that it is one of the Barred Rocks, exactly 21 weeks old. It's a little one-






And people laughed when we put ceramic eggs in there...

Yay!! I got my first egg today too, she laid it beside the nesting box on the coop floor.. hopefully the next egg will be in the box, I do have plastic eggs in there.

Congratulations. Amazing that first egg. I am still waiting, but after your posts, you can bet I will be at the feed store on Saturday to pickup a ceramic eggs. They are such a sweet childhood memory - thank you.

There must be something about Oct. 11th! We got our first egg yesterday too, and one more today. VERY exciting I have 8 hens, almost 5 months old. I have no idea which one is laying but they are brown so it wasn't one of the Americaunas. I told my husband I was having the first one bronzed
