First Egg (Not the Pullet I expected)

    My pullets are 23 weeks old and finally today I got the first egg, a beautiful light aqua color that doesn't show well in the photo. I'd expected the Dom or more mature of the SS to lay first, having read here that EE may be slow to lay. But no, the EE below did the deed! (btw, what do you call the color pattern/color of that EE? The photo is old; all have red, supple combs and wattles now.)

    gratz one the egg my husband laughs at me everytime i get exited when my babies lay their first egg lol and as the what color pattern that is ..... have no idea lol yellow laced lol but very pretty girl

    Congrats! We got our first egg yesterday and for us too it was not the chicken we thought would be first, she's the little runt- all 5 of ours were hatched the same day.
