oh the pride i have in that egg, anyway, today i went to look and there wasn't one. i found the first in the afternoon because thats when igot home. today i looked and looked until the time that i got home yesterday at passed. i have heard that first time layers can lay irregular eggs and at irregular times but i was just wondering how long it'll roughly take before theres another? how long the irregularity will last? when will the other chickens begin laying, soon because she is or in there own time? pretty much any extra information that you can give me would be helpful. i get the main stuff but i just like to know if there is something im missing.

You're right its irregular for every bird, one of my girls jsut started laying on the 13th (double yolk) next egg was on the 15th (double yolk) now I've been getting smaller single yolk eggs the past 3 days from her. Good Luck

I have 6 hens and I think 2-4 of them are laying at the moment. I've been getting 1 egg a day, sometimes 2 for a week and a half, and they missed one day. So from that, I would say each hen may be taking 2-4 days to lay another egg.

It probably varies from bird to bird and breed to breed though.

Thanks so much. how old are your chickens and how long have they been skipping days?

I got mine as "point of lay" pullets so I am not 100% on how old they were. I had them for 2 months before first egg and they've missed one day. They've been laying for 10 days, but I don't know exactly how many are laying. The day they missed was either after the 2nd or 3rd egg I think. (I knew I should have written this stuff down!)

Their laying could be somewhat erratic at first. You may get eggs one day nothing for a couple of days or so then another egg. They are not always consistent when they first start laying and while their bodies are adjusting.
