Chirping
So who's the culprit? When we got these girls back in November only Loudmouth, the pale gray/brown hen was laying, and her egg was very light pinkish-beige with no speckling (last pic).
We found the speckled egg (first pic) in the bedding while cleaning this morning, and it's fairly small but perfectly formed. All four hens' combs and wattles are red, but Big Red (on the right in the photo below) has begun squatting. Is it likely her egg? It's the same size as, but very different color from Loudmouth's eggs last year.
These hens are mixed breed/unknown, and I'd call Big Red an average-size bird whereas the others are on the small side, but not bantam. Big Red has pink legs, the others' legs are dark greenish. Not sure if that helps at all.
