I got one a week ago - since then nothing. We seem to have endless days of cloudy weather. A little bright sunshine, I think would help.

Oh my! I have a story for y’all!

I walked out. The ladies were free-ranging, and the only one missing was my dear Dominique Pepper, the one who is obviously my layer.
She wasn’t in the comfy, straw-filled nest, which scared the crap out of me.
I was pacing about, wondering where on earth she could be, when I heard the scrape of claws on wood right above me.
We have a 10- ft tall wooden deck, attached to our house.

Miss Pepper climbed up all those stairs, all the way up, so she could nest in our Christmas tree.

I have no idea what she was thinking…but it’s a bit magical, isn’t it?

She’s freezing, though. I can hear her beak chattering as she shivers.
The deck is all wet and cold.
