I have a few more who look close and a couple that I think will be awhile. Luckily I think one that will be ready soon is an Easter Egger, so that will be cool! They are all just over 21 weeks. Everyone was gathered around and watching as she was getting ready to lay.

I'd like to keep this egg. Is my only real option to blow it? Any way to preserve it to keep without blowing it out? My brother joked about having it bronzed and now I'm debating if that's possible. I have no clue what that really is, and of course I have never bronzed anything, but if I were to start, this first egg seems like the thing to start with! Any ideas of how to save it?

lol, just blow it out. Then, set it on a pretty little egg stand like this:

Edit to add: To blow it out make a small pin hole on the top of the egg and a bigger hole on the bottom (where it won't be seen!) then blow into the top hole until the egg empties out the bottom hole. It pays to experiment with some not precious eggs first!

Wow! She's a gorgeous girl!
And a beautiful egg too!
Congrats. :wee

:oldUntil you decide just what you're going to do with it, put it someplace safe!

-not anywhere the curious/jealous family cat can get to it!
