Thank you! Definitely hoping the eggs get larger soon
They will! Make sure you feed at least 1/4 lb feed per day per bird with poultry grit and OS on the side.

It can take from a few weeks to more than a few months for eggs to get up to a 'large' size. Have had only a very few birds that it was less than that few weeks.Definitely hoping the eggs get larger soon
How are you able to tell? Is the color different from a RIR? I've got both in my flock but they haven't started laying yet.It looks like a barred rock egg.
Good to know, thank youIt can take from a few weeks to more than a few months for eggs to get up to a 'large' size. Have had only a very few birds that it was less than that few weeks.
Thank you! She laid another today so I’m very happy at least one of my pullets is laying lolThe egg looks great! I am so happy for you! Don't worry about the egg size, my Golden Comet first laid an egg about the size of a marble, and it gradually got bigger over the course of a month or two. Now I get 'large' eggs as classified by the internet. Cangrats on the egg!
How old is the hen that's laying now?She laid this one today, so happy to get some eggs.View attachment 1657203

Mostly the color. In my experiences RIR lay a slightly darker egg than a barred rock. RIR sometimes lay speckled eggs too.How are you able to tell? Is the color different from a RIR? I've got both in my flock but they haven't started laying yet.
