First Egg!!! Woohoo

We were so excited to have our fits egg yesterday evening. I blogged about it, complete with pictures of how perfect it was. Ha ha. I know it was Maude, our Barred Rock. So fun!

I'm celebrating too---today was the first day that I got an egg from every one of mine....and I'm wooo hoooing too!

Maude is just 18-19 weeks according to ours and the breeders calculations. So, I guess she's a bit early.

Maude is a precocious chicken to display early laying.

Just like you--- the eggs are motivators to me. I'm glad that since I'm new to chickens I got a hen and point of lay pullets...because it is so rewarding to get the eggs from them.


Chickens are amazing. You will have eggs coming in while you wait for your others to mature. Every day is an adventure.
