Someone in my bevy laid the first egg this morning. A lovely opaque tan egg only slightly rounder and larger than a chicken egg. I suspect one of the campbells, no way of knowing if the mature girl we got a month ago decided to lay now that she found true love, or if one of my july babies decided to start paying rent. Either way I'm thrilled to FINALLY be getting some of my investment back. To celebrate we're having (culled) duck and rice for supper.
