So my ducklings were hatched 3/16/15 and I have 9 females and 1 male out of that group. Today I found my first egg! I am not sure who laid it but I do know it wasn't the Cayuga because the egg was small and white. This is almost a month earlier than I was expecting.

Congrats!

wow! Congratulations.... I got six Muscovy ducks as babies about two weeks after yours were born. Now I wonder if they are also going to start with egg laying. They are about 16 weeks now. I didn't think they would start egg laying till about another two months but this is giving me some hope :) Always exciting when they start laying.

I'm not a Muscovy person, but I've heard they typically start laying later than other ducks, more in the 6-7 month range than the 5-6 month range of the Mallard derivatives. Maybe some experienced Muscovy owners will answer.

Well looks like she's on a roll. 3rd egg laid today and this one is bigger than the other 2. Wish I knew which hen it is that's laying.

Well now another duck is laying. Found 2 eggs this morning. They seem small though. Hopefully as they lay more the eggs will be bigger.

I don't think I've seen you say anywhere what you plan to do with them. They're quite dirty, so they wouldn't be best for hatching or eating. You might want to consider getting some nesting pads. I've had great luck with those. The eggs we get out of our nesting pads look just about like the ones you get from a store-bought egg container.

They have nesting areas, a dog house and some nesting boxes but these were laid right in the middle of the pen in the mud.

They are for eating for now although these will be going to the dogs just because it's time to make their dog food and I'd rather use eggs I have than buy more eggs. As for them being dirty, I would just wash them before I would eat them. If people didn't ever eat dirty eggs they'd never eat eggs. :)

Yes, my eggs get really dirty too. I try cleaning the nest boxes, but that doesn't last long, especially with egg-eaters I need to get rid of. However, washing eggs can push the dirt and bacteria into the pores, so careful how you do it.
The really dirty or old ones we either scramble for the chickens or give to the dogs.
