First Egg!!!!

Aimee what kind of bantams do you have? My friend Denise has mille fleurs and they are excellent layers but their eggs are brownish.

Congrats! Mine laid their first egg on July 3rd! One of my Buff Orpingtons, Rose. She's laid 2 more since then. Yesterday, as she sat laboring in the nesting box, our rooster kept pacing back and forth in front of the coop, stopping to look inside every minute or so, just like an expectant Daddy! I have five more the same age. I'm looking forward to having more eggs.

She's an Easter Egger but I'm not sure other than that. She was given to me by a friend. Here's a picture of her from a few weeks ago. She's a real sweetie and has the cutest puffy cheeks.
