First egg

Is the first egg laid from a pullet normally small or can it be normal size? I have an old Easter Egger that has not been laying all spring or summer I pretty much thought she was done laying but the last two days I have gotten 2 light blue eggs. I recently got a Easter egger pullet but she is only 17 to 18 weeks old. I'm trying to figure out which one laying?

Yes, the first egg is often small. One of my Barred Rocks laid their first egg this morning, it was tiny.

If it's small than most likely the pullet but if it's larger than most likely the old hen unless she always laid small eggs, some hens always lay small eggs but most will get larger as they get older. I can't really tell how big the egg is without a comparison.

I am just excited to get my first egg. I bet it's my old hen. I'll just continue waiting. I really thought my old hen retired.
