First Egg

I am jumping with joy over here! One of our Jersey Giants laid her first egg, first egg for the flock actually, this afternoon!!! She is 18 wks 2days. Tiniest little egg! Strong shell though!

Mine are 17 weeks. I keep checking but nothing yet. I feel we are close. If not the chickens, the one female duck should lay any day now--I think.

We have had a soft shelled egg from one of our 18 weekers. Congrats!!

Congrats! Nothing quite like the very first egg.

We now have 3 hens laying! Both of our Jersey Giants were laying at 18 weeks and have faithfully laid an egg each all but 3 days since. And this morning one of our Easter eggers laid her first egg (20 weeks 2 days). So exciting!

The barred rock and both ducks. One of the ducks Is laying twice a day and I got a double yolker. The second chicken is taking her sweet time.
