So excited! I got my first egg! It looks pink in the pic but was more a light brown in my opinion. I have welsumers, RIR and Easter eggers. Anyone have an opinion on which bread laid this egg????

Congratulations!
We got our first egg about the same week as you! It was so exciting.
The next few were softshell and then I got this really large one that filled the palm of my hand.
It was the largest egg I had ever seen.
Since then, we have more hens laying, one of which is laying a small egg every morning.
We are looking forward to when the three Orpingtons in our small flock start laying next month.

It was a RIR. I only have 2 of my 9 left to start laying. My EE are a blue/green and the welsummer look pretty cool with their speckles. Getting a few soft shells though.

No opinion on who laid it (I'm a newbie), but congratulations! I got my first egg a week ago. So far, it's only costing me about $225 an egg & I'm having a blast. Hopefully you have many more eggs in your future!

Mazel Tov! How EggCiting! and I'm jealous still waiting for my ladies to start laying.......

Mine started laying a week ago Friday & have given me 13 lovely eggs. I have 2 silver-laced Wyandottes. You'll probably have more eggs than you know what do with soon!
