First egg

Hi guys I have 3 silkies 1 male 2 girls one of the girls has laid her very first egg this morning and its tiny, she is 9months old same as male and my splash girl is 7 months. Is this normal size or will they get bigger a lighter for size reference feels quite heavy though thanks have a great day guys xx

Congrats on the first egg! First eggs do tend to be smaller, so give her a little time to ramp up her production skills.

Keep in mind that silkies generally lay smaller eggs compared to some other breeds!

That's normal. Congrats on your first egg. I had one of my BO pullets lay at 15 weeks. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see the video. It was tiny, because she was so tiny. She's 20 weeks now, and they've been getting slightly bigger every few days.
