I knew it was on the way because FeatherToe was the first to build a nest. It was my husband's idea to put the toy wood lemon in there, I guess it worked lol.

Thank you! I'm so excited and I feel very accomplished for a first time chicken 'parent' lol. Yes, Black Copper. I have 3, they are beautiful birds.

Yes, they are. I have somewhere around 90 ish, Black Coppers and BBS Silvers.
If you can.. keep track of those eggs for a few weeks. They will more than likely darken up for you and that will tell you her average color # that she'll lay.

Yes they truly are a beautiful breed, especially the coloring on the males. The Standard recommends to track the first 20-30 eggs and this will give their average color they will lay at their peak. I typically see their darkest within the first week to 10 days with mine.
