    Hi Everyone

We have our first egg laid between 11am and 1pm and it came from Hermione the sweet Golden Buff Orpington, I am so eggsited, hopefully the other 7 will start laying soon. They were all out free ranging as usual but she went back to the nest box in the coop to lay her egg so that was good.

I just love having chickens, Our rooster is still being pecked but every day the blu kote and no pick get applied so he is doing better.

Bye for now, I just had to let you all know that the newbie to the site is feeling proud of her first egg.

    Thanks for listening

One of my chickens laid their first egg today too! So tiny! Only 4 months old... [IMG] But i think someone pecked it. Maybe they layed it while they were on the roost and it fell on the pine shavings.... MyStErY

    But...... Congrats to you! [IMG]

Oh I LOVE when they lay their first egg!

My LuLu made such a ruckus, my hubby and ran out to make sure there wasn't a predator attacking them and there was LuLu outside her coop yelling to the word about what had just come out her back side.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I tried to put her back in her coop and she would have NOTHING of that! She was like "No freakin way am I going back in there! Do you know what just happened to me in there?!"

    Chickens are awesome!

    Hi,

Lottie is right they really make such a ruckus, my partner said I was hearing what I wanted to hear but I think Women know these things, I knew one of them at least was going to lay the sound was so different. The clucking is so incredibly loud and different like they are saying look at me and what I just did. They really are so funny, warm and wonderful. I can't imagine life without them, I am joining all you crazy but wonderful chicken lovers.
