first egg!!!!!

my girly duck is getting ready to lay first egg i think.you can see the form of the egg under her.the past week she has been walking or running around all crazy.her head kept low and moving it back and forth in a crazy manner.is this normal behavior or does she need help???

Sounds like she maybe broody, you say you see the egg under her and she is acting like this then she is most likely broody.

My first thought wasn't "broody" but .... egg bound

I've yet to experience a female go broody before coming into lay

Could you possibly post a pic of what you are seeing when you say you see the form of an egg beneath her?
