First Egg

Problem is she doesn't seem to be able to lay another one, or I have a second hen about ready to lay??? we are too new at this to know what is going on.

We aren't going to raise any babies, We just wanted Rudy because they are so pretty and really really funny.

We spend our afternoons sitting in the back yard chicken watching.

They are so relaxing to watch! Best of luck. Give it time I'm sure you will have lots of eggs! Some breeds will lay more than others. Some lay daily and some lay every few days. What breeds do you have?

Good information RedBarnFarms....our first eggs are sometimes the size of a quail egg and missing the yoke. They grow slowly over time and at first are not a daily event. Ours are free ranged and sometimes we find them hiding them in the most unusual places. Rudy's Flock you have so much fun ahead of you! Best of luck with your flock.
