Congratulations. I have thought about eating a couple but I get over 2 dozen chicken eggs a day, so there is no shortage of eggs here. I really hope to build up my flock and sell a bunch of poults.I have 2 bourbon red hens and they both just started laying. I got my first turkey egg ever 4 days ago and my second hen started today. My DH found 2 eggs in the nest. YAY SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!!! Oh and im not waiting a few week to incubate, all the turkeys first eggs are collected and stored in the basement and waiting. I might cave and let DH have 2 for breakfast, hes been dieing to try them.
FINALLY! Got my first egg yesterday. If i wouldn't have caught her in the act I would never have known she laid her egg either. She (thankfully) laid in their house but carefully and completely covered her egg to leave no sign of it.
Congratulations! I have been collecting for 10 days now and will be setting what I get in the incubator on Friday. I am up to 18 eggs right now and am hoping for 24 by Friday. It is my first time setting eggs and am hoping for positive results!FINALLY! Got my first egg yesterday. If i wouldn't have caught her in the act I would never have known she laid her egg either. Quote: Forgot to mention, I have some little ducks that apparently had a wild mallard as their father ("free ducklings in need of a good home," and I couldn't resist). Even though I know EXACTLY where their nest is I have trouble finding it with all of the time they spend hiding it.
