First Egg!!!!!

We just got our very first egg today!!! We're soooo excited! Now what should our expectations be???? We have six chickens and they're just about six months.

Congrats! I'd expect egg laying to be one every other day or so, and a slow ramp up to 4-5 maybe 6 eggs a day till winter if you're lucky!

Thanks! Wow that's great! Now I gotta figure out how to get them to lay in their coop every day! Is there a way to train them? Lol

Awesome! We just got our first egg today too! One of our white leghorns surprised me this morning at only 16 weeks 1 day old! Can't wait for the others to start!

My production reds are 18 weeks old now. Still no eggs. I've noticed their combs are growing and turning more red.
