They lay them near the back door, almost like delivery...we shall see if it continues.

All are doing well, medical patient 1, still gets beat up, but LG and Dark Prince beat up everybody...

Rain is a sweetheart. She wants to be a duck real bad. She does not chase them but she tries to get close and sometimes they get spooked but they are ok with her.

Hey good to hear from you. what a nice way to start your day eggs delivered to the back door. lol

Sounds like a typical flock this time of year. Rain is so pretty will she swim with them?

Hi! Yes it was a wonderful moment. I wish I'd taken picture of where they lay but I did not want Rain finding them first as they were not hidden, just plopped of the path.

Sorry for the lack of posting. Busy on the farm..no money forcing me to hand dig the other ponds and connecting swales, planting and putting up fencing for the layer ducklings and quail coming this September is taking from sun up to sun down.

Rain walks the pond edge with them. The crew likes to follow us when we walk around the property. They also hang out up at the house sitting near Rain on the porch...I'll get a picture next time...I'm just not to on the spot with the camera.

Rain does not like to swim. But she cools off at the edge and in the pool.

As for the crew, they are comical and brutal. The males and LG, are really aggressive and rape the other 3 daily. I need more females but no time to commit for that right now. At least they like the house and feel comfortable laying there, I'm hoping it continues.

Edited: Added pic of the spot. The 2 girls were back wondering where their eggs went and digging it out more. It is LG and Harriett.

Thank you. Rain is a special puppy. She already is cool with the ducks, so amazing.

My removal of the eggs ( her first nest was in the middle of a well dog trodden path ) caused some problems with the momma who dug it. She has moved it and Prince guards her when she is in there building/digging. If I or dog come near, they bolt and don't return until all clear from DJ, he kind of scouts after they bolt lagging behind. I'm fascinated by their behavior.

I think she is going broody as she is a boisterous momma already bossing the others.

So I am just going to let this happen as the crew has been hanging with the wild tree ducks that they accepted, so I think they all got their natural selves on without me even knowing it.

I'll update if I see some more eggs, when I see them, for now I will leave with a moment of zen, except she almost knocks over the shovel...

Love and ducks...

Ps, I found the new nest.
