This is my first year overseeing my turkey hen laying eggs. We are up to 7 now, but it has been very muddy and the first few eggs are downright disgusting. Should I nab them and give them a quick rinse, or just let nature take it's course?

Are you planning to incubate them or is the turkey going to incubate them?

if the turkey will hatch then I would leave them alone but If you decide to rinse them use 120 degree water.

If you are going to incubate them use 120 water with bleach at the rate of one ounce per gallon.

Dunk them and rinse then dunk them in a second bleach solution and dry.

Make sure you incubator is sterile.

Also know the really bad ones might not hatch.

I'm letting her sit on them. Thank you for the helpful info!
I'll be adding a second nesting box tomorrow to hopefully keep the ducks out.
They are starting to lay too, and those big flappy feet carry a lot of mud!
