First eggs question

Sorry, didn’t mean she was broody. It’s just what caused me to check under her in the first place. None of the hens are showing any signs of broodiness right now.

Now my other EE is in her nest, decorating her back and singing loudly. No egg yet, but it seems like it should be soon based on her behavior. It’ll be nice to 100% know which color egg is hers. I feel like I’m solving a mystery! Lol

Congrats on your first eggs! Broody is more when they won't leave the nest. Eggs are nice color.

This week’s eggs. I’m not sure if they’re all 4 laying now or just 2-3, but we got 2 eggs the first day, 1 egg the second, none the third, and 2 the fourth day. I know the dark brown are from the BOs, but I’m not sure about the lightest brown/pink one. This sure is fun!

We got our first eggs this week too! I'm literally checking their coop 4-5 times a day hoping to see eggs! We got 2 yesterday! I'm pretty sure I have 3 laying right now.

I’m checking all the time too! It’s too exciting. I actually found a BO sitting on an egg, brought it into the house, went back out to clean up the coop a bit and there was a brand new egg under the same hen. It was warm and still wet!

The brown ones or even the slight pink ones are probably from the BO, the blue/green of course from the EE, although the pink could be from the EE too. When a hen first lays their pigment may still be coming in and the colors may not come all the way through. And depending on if the EE are mixed, they may would not lay blue/green eggs.

Congrats on your first eggs! I know its exciting!

Guessing end eggs came from same bird.
