First Eggs Today! :D

I wasn't sure if this heat was going to delay our getting eggs, but I went ahead and bought two nest boxes for the coop about 4 days ago. I guess that gave them the idea!!!

Got two eggs today! One is a bit smaller than the other but they are beautiful! I was so happy when I came back from the coop I danced the whole way! YaY

We got our chicks at TSC on March 3rd. At least I think those are the batch that layed the eggs. Not sure which ones it was that layed them to be honest, but I can guess, because there is one of each that has very red comb/wattles.

Oh I am so very very happy! Except .... we have a total of 19 pullets ... well .. I guess 2 are now officially hens ... but omg we're gonna be drowning in eggs soon! hahahaha!!!

awww...eggs!! I keep forgetting that I'm actually going to get a reward for all the love and care I've given my babies!! Can't wait!! Congratulations!!

Thank you! And yes, they are beautiful. Such a delicate light tan in color and perfectly shaped. I have been concerned about the heat (a week+ now of over 100 degree days) and wondered if it would affect their egg laying.

I guess my buying the nest boxes was all the cue they needed!
