First Eggs! What to expect next...?

We just found our first eggs this week, yoohoo! We have 3 hens all a little over 5 months--either Americana or EE's. Based on her behavior of always laying down, we are pretty sure only one hen is laying one egg/day right now. Couple questions: the eggs are really small and we want to know will they get bigger with age of hens? Also, they are brownish green, does this tell us which species they are? Thanks

1.yes, they may get alittle larger. 2. all it says is it was a ee that laid it.

Yes, they will get bigger.

Yep, they will get bigger in time as their bodies adjust to laying.

Thanks all - that's what we were hoping. Is there also a typical time of day/night they lay? I was going to do some work out back near the coop that involved hammering today but they seem to be hunkering down like they are going to lay. Seems like they a really getting into this new behavior, and we are just watching and giving them space. Little blood on the first egg too, but figuring this is normal.
