First eggs!

Just had to update! My bantam Webt broody very early. I wasn't up to the task of breaking her (I tried but didn't do anything extreme-just removed her from the nest when I saw her) so my neighbor who has golden comets that lay like machines has fertilized eggs but no Broodies so my sweet girl is getting A try a hatching her first clutch. Meanwhile .. my EE also started laying a big beautiful blue green egg, my FBCM is laying a pretty copper colored speckled egg (not the dark brown I wanted but I didn't have my hopes up), my light brahma is giving me a pink egg (EXACTLY what I wanted) and my faverolle has been consistently giving me a little cream egg every single day! Long story short... they are getting the hang of it and doing great. I'm so excited I can't stand myself and so I had to share with folks who understand!!

I understand. When i was getting a variety of egg colors, it was fun. I've since lost my color producers and have just the standard brown eggs from golden comets that as you say, lay like machines.

I love his comets and their eggs really are pretty too. They're huge and a very pretty brown. I just chose mine for the fun and excitement of different colors. My girls and I both love to see what we get each day and from the looks of it we will get plenty of eggs to supply our little family and that's all I really wanted. Plus I really like the look of my mixed flock. Almost everyone has something unique going on. Whether it be a fluffy beard or leg feathering or both. They're all really oddball looking.
