We got our very first eggs today! 2-double yolk eggs that I'm sure came from SLW (as they are a week older than our other hens).
Question: with both first eggs having double yolks, will this always happens or just now at the beginning as their bodies are figuring out this egg laying business?

They're figuring things out. They might still happen in the future still but most will be singles.

Congratulations on your first eggs!

Congrats on your first eggs. It is super exciting to go collect eggs everyday.

Don’t rule out someone else laying them. Our most regularly laying pullet is our Gold Sexlink who is a week or two younger than our Silver Laced Wyandottes, Buff Orpingtons and Easter Eggers. We got her & our Black Sexlink a week after the rest and who knows how old they were at that point. She also has been laying HUGE eggs. So it is not always your oldest that lay first or the largest.

They will probably lay double yolkers every now and then but they will lay single yolkers more...

And congratulations on your first eggs!!
