First eggs!!!!!!!

I have 4 Golden Comets and 2 Tetra Tints. At 17 weeks, I found my first egg (yea)! However, the eggs seem to be coming every other day, are very small and come at any time during the morning hours (8am - 12pm). Is this normal?

Very normal. You'll likely see some funny things when they first begin to lay. Hopefully the other hens will follow suit in the next week or two.

In another month they will iron things out and get more consistent.

HELP!!!!!!! DEAD CHICKEN!!!!!

One of my 21 week old Tetra tints was found dead in the coop this morning. She was fine last evening and has been laying pretty regularly but this morning we found her dead and the other hens pecking at her. She must of laid an egg earlier today but I found blood on it. Please, does anyone know what could of happened? I'm a newbie to raising chickens and this just totally devastated me. They all seemed so healthy!
