How do I close my account? Nothing personal. We had a house fire New Year's Eve and lost everything, including the chicks in the basement brooder.

I do hope that you are able to get back on your feet.

I believe BYC do not delete accounts to protect the integrity of the forum and the threads. If people deleted their accounts, their posts would go missing from those threads they have posted on which could possibly result in them not making sense.

If you are concerned about security, you could try removing all personal information from your profile and turn off all notifications so that you are no longer receiving e.mails.

Alternatively, if you are still keen to have the account removed, I recommend discussing this with one of the moderators.
