Day 13 and everything's going well with the cracked egg. I've noticed one egg leaking an almost sweet smelling liquid kind of amber in color and I can't find a crack even when I candle it. Is the egg still good or is something wrong?

In my experience, that amber liquid is a very bad sign. I would remove it immediately. They have been known to explode...an awful experience for everyone concerned..

Yea I did remove it pretty quickly after I realized what it was lol

One of the reasons I'm thinking the RI Aussies are cockerels is their personalities. They are actually pretty aggressive towards each other...posturing and kicking out at one another. Their father is a very mean and aggressive RIR and I have to bring a garbage can top into the coop as my shield to collect eggs from the BA hens. Can that aggressive behavior be passed on to offspring??

Eh I think it really just depends on the whole nature vs. nurture thing. I think if they're handled enough by you and learn that you're the one in control then they should be ok. But there's always some that are just plain old mean and there's not a thing you can do about it lol I had one that my dad actually ended up shooting because he came after my little brother pretty badly and just wouldn't stop. They can be pretty wiley

Woke up this morning and the incubator was at 105. Don't know how long it was like that. Will they survive?

Congrats on the soon to be 'new arrivals' and good luck with a successful hatch rate!
I just set my first batch this morning and am scared poopless!
I also bought a Hovabator 1602N still air and am still trying to figure out the varying opinions as to which might be better and why, exactly.
Would love to hear from anybody out there...
Set eggs and I am still on the roost for deciding between Dry v. 'normal' incubating.

Not 'mad' but definitely want to bang head against
wall!

Remember I spiked out at 108 and still have surviving embryos. I thought for sure I would lose all of them. I'm sending positive thoughts your way that they will be OK.

They're on day 18 now. I'm not sure how long it was at 105 because I was asleep. I don't know when it got that high
