First Experience with a Broody Hen

You could keep the breaker crate out in the run, then put her on the roost at night after dark. I often let them out to roam an hour before roost time and block the nests at that time.

I wish I could, but this has all happened way too soon.

This what my run looks like right now. :)

Tough situation....
If you're trying to break her of being broody, best to take that bedding out of there.
You want to 'cool her off', but she's right next to the radiator, plus the house is so much warmer than outside.
Will be curious as to how this works out.
Just a new location may break her 'broody', then you can put her back outside.
Best of cLuck!

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. i considered not putting the bedding in there but so far so good. Since I moved her she has not nested at all and is walking, eating and drinking again. She has made several escape attempts and ended up perched on my shoulder a few times. I ended up nailing some boards to a blanket over the top because she can jump out of the narrowest spaces. I am in Portsmouth, N.H. I'll update.... thought I had already done that. Thanks for the advice again. I really appreciate it.
