First full incubator!! Bargain and Little_Gray_Bantam: PICTURES ADDED

First time LOADING the bator!!! I even have 1 extra that I'm seeing how it will rotate stacked

Set on 3/12 at noon! They're due on Good Friday... let's hope it is a Good Friday

from Little_Gray_Bantam:
9 BMC
9 CM
2 BO/banty
12 banty mix

From Bargain:
11 BCM

All the chicks that hatched are from Little Gray Bantam except the Wheaton Marans

3 BCM and 1 WM

My CMs who pretty much refused to stand still

Silkie chick (1 foot has 4 toes the other has 5)

2 banty mix twins

1 BO mix

and this is Cyclopse. She has and eye that didn't develope right, her lids are completely shut. Haven't decided if I'm going to cull her or put her in my mix flock to just lay eggs but small white spot on the head so I'm pretty sure she's a shela.

It's a Genesis 1588 with the auto turner. This will be my second hatch in it, first time full

I'm crossing my fingers as tight as can be for the BCMs to hatch

I love the huge window, made hatching so much fun the last time getting to watch the little ones and them watch back churping

this will be my second load on the incubator. Hopefully, with the kinks worked out. Only got 6 out of 25, I am embarrassed to say. Mine is homemade.

Oh I haven't had any luck with shipped eggs yet! last order was from an Ebayer though and I didn't recognize any of the pictures of their flock from here so I don't think it was a BYCer... I'm betting I'll have better luck this round, I know my bator is spot on with the temp so I'm hoping I'm doing the right thing with the humidity. There are as many opinions on humidity as there are people hatching it seems, I guess you could say I'm doing the dry method? Fill to 35% then let the well drop to 20% then fill back durring first 18 days. At lockdown I'll have it set to 60%.

Ok going onto day 15 I can't tell what the BCMs are doing, too dark I just stopped looking at them. BUT I do have 3 CMs that are lighter that look good, and the bantam mix 10 look good with 2? so 1 BO/banty mix looks good so we should have some chickies in a couple days

So far this is the best sucess with shipped eggs yet!!!!

I am doing about the same with humidity. Have read a lot about hatches improving by 30-40% when using the dry method. All the data makes sense. Still think it is weird that you need 60% humidity. I can't imagine a hen producing that kind of moisture, but maybe they do.

I can't see into my eggs from Bargain either. They are just uber dark!! Hoping to get some hens that lay eggs like that!! We are on day 4.
