First goose eggs!!

Yay! So exciting! Yep my whites who are not a year old till March started us off... Way to early a few of my young buffs decided to join in. So here I am filling ponds in the morning at 18 degree temps. I should have learned my lesson last year (I raise heavy weights) early hatches and young geese dont do well... You have Chinese they will do much better with a early hatch. But as always fingers crossed... Keep us updated...

Went Easter Egg hunting early and gathered 19 goose eggs and 1 (lucky) duck egg! I said I wasn’t going to interfere this year but realistically I know the coons will come calling and even worse those nasty hawks will snatch babies! So here we go … 🙏❤️

My 10 month olds started laying last month and the eggs from last week are looking lively already in the incubator. I must be really lucky with them...they will only lay eggs in clean straw in the barn. If they are outside in their fenced area and they get the urge, they will pace aback and forth at the entrance. I let the girl out and she races to the barn waiting to be left back in to do her job. Just amazing!
