My eggs hatched on days 20 and 21. I helped two of them out of their shells after they made no progress after about 36 hours. Everyones doing great! 17 out of 24 hatched. Just wondering.. is this a good hatch rate for a first time?

Also, I have some eggs that my in-laws gave me that have been waiting for about a week for the incubator to clear out. They actually gave me 3 dozen and I know one dozen is a week old. The other's are probably about 1 1/2 -2 weeks old. Do you think these will hatch?? I guess it's worth a shot!

17 out of 24 YEA! I think thats great for a first hatch. Also I would try to incubate all the eggs, I do not think they are to old. As long as you stored them right I believe they will be fine.

70% hatch rate is not bad for a first hatch i would say. congrats on the chicks they are cute.

CONGRATS on the hatch! Heck yeah I would put all the eggs in also cause if you don't put them in you'll never know if they will hatch.

I put all 36 in this afternoon... Hopefully I'll get a few out of it!

I'd say that's a great success. My first hatch was 2 out of 16. Next two wasn't much better. Finally had a good outcome with 7 hatches out of 12, with one loss. Didn't do well again with only 1 out of 12 but I know my humidity was way too high. Tues. putting in 36.
Great job!
