I had purchased bantam araucana, bantam golden campine, and full-sized buff orpingtons and welsummers to from various sources on eBay--although my orps came from greenfamilyfarms of BYC! Everything that seemed able to go wrong, did go wrong, including delayed delivery of my incubator, my orpington eggs sitting on my porch for several days (post office thing!), and several temperature spikes. End result:

1 of 6 araucanas hatched (tough little bird!!)
1 of 12 welsummers hatched
5 of 15 buff opington hatched, with 3 pipping/zipping and 2 more possibles.
I have to say that I am *thrilled* with my orpington results. I was so sure that *none* of them would hatch and these eggs have performed beyond my expectations with all that has happened with them. These all look like healthy and hearty chicks from beautiful large eggs and I am PRAYING that they will mostly be pullets. Thanks so much, greenfamilyfarms!
