First Hatch Due 3/19!! UPDATE: Want some of these Babies?

This website has really helped me a lot too. I knew a little bit before joining but I have really learned a lot since joining.

Well, I set up my brooder today to test the temp levels of UV Reptile light and my new red heat lamp. What is it supposed to run just after chicks hatch?

I will be adding the wood shavings, paper towels, food and water just after the chicks start hatching.

Advice? I will be making a "topper" to keep the cats out. I figure the tall sides will be helpful for keeping the chicks a little more calm. (plus, not being able to jump out.. lol)

So today is day 16 and I SWEAR I saw one of the eggs rocking a little bit earlier. I kept starting like.. REALLY?!?! Is that normal for them to move so many days before hatching?

OMG OMG OMG!!!


I'm on day 19, went into lockdown yesterday morning and I can hear CHEAPING!! At least one chick has decided NOT to wait until official hatch day!! I can't see any pips yet but I have 28 eggs in a hovabator 1620n with those tiny windows!! ACK!! Is everything going to be ok with them trying to get out early? They can only cheap when they break into the air cell right??


PLEASE be ok tiny chicken!!

I am freaking out!!
