First Hatch, Due Febuary 25. Who's with me?

I'm a little worried. I've had one more pip, but no progress on the two that had pipped early this morning. I wonder if my hygrometer is off and my humidity is much higher than it ought to be or something. The temperature has been a little erratic, it keeps straying between 98.5 and 101, but no higher or lower. C'mon, birds, give me a little more indication of what's going on inside those shells!

We have chirping from our chickobator. Bertha has three eggs under her right now and due to hatch them out Friday or Sat. Can't remember what day she started to sit on them.

YAY I can't do incubation in a box up here our power goes out way to much. UGH.

1st Pip @ 1:30 pm! 34 more to go! 1st to pip was a Phoenix Bantam that I got from Boggy Bottom Bantams. This is gonna be a nerve wracking day! Only my 2nd hatch. My first hatch with shipped eggs. I hope I don't end up with only 1 chick!

17 chicks and counting... several are zipping and the rest are pipped.

I did open the incubator up because the humidity was climbing to the 90'S! I have read too many stories of baby chicks drowning so I hope I didn't ruin the chances of the rest. Humidity has gone down to 80 and I might open it up again... unless told otherwise. LOL

It's an LG, so just the two vent holes that you'd find. I'll try opening up in a bit again to decrease the humidity a bit. I don't like it being so high....

We have one chick hatched! She's a beautiful gray with a yellow belly. True barnyard mutt! Very boisterous and loud, kicking all over the place. I hope the others are as bright eyed and bushy tailed (sort of) as she is! See what I did there, calling it a she?

I'm thinkin' positive!

Chicken count is up to 24 (or 25 they wouldn't stay still!)... I hope the rest make it out soon.

BTW, my chick fell into the bottom of my cabinet incubator; is she alright down there? Does that happen a lot, or is my particularly-active-chick an Olympic athlete to have managed to clamber up over the edge like that?

Congratulations!!! Get your camera and take a lot of pics when they hatch. Show us your fluffy-butt chirpies lol. .
