First Hatch, First Chick

Well my chick did not read the "how to hatch rules" No pip, no zip just one 5 minute explosion and it was out and now it is peeping very loudly and bowling with all the other eggs in the incubator!!!!

It is a "California girl" from my lemon blue cochin eggs from wwmicasa1's lemon blue project.

One down and 21 to go and this is the end of day 20. I will have my 3 and 9 year old grandsons tomorrow so it should be very exciting!

I had two out of six hatch (bad thermostat), and had no warning on either. The first was on day 20, and the second on day 22. I was only gone for about an hour with the second one, and didn't think anybody else was going to hatch because there weren't any pips.
