First hatch - heat lamp or light bulb?

I just had my first incubated hatch. 5 out of 8. They are now in brooder box under a heat lamp. If I need to cut back on the temp by 5 degrees each week I'm not sure how to accomplish that. Should I switch to a regular light bulb?

If you raise the height of the heat lamp above the chicks it will work. Chicks will do better with a red light than a normal white light bulb. They do sell red colored Mood light bulbs that have a lower wattage at Lowes.
